Wow! Can you believe how quickly the summer is passing by? We hope you take advantage of the final few weeks of your summer break to enjoy some intimate time with your family. Sometimes life distracts us from what is most important to us. I believe this is one of Satan's tools to destroy the family. The more time we spend with our family the stronger the relationship that is built. This creates a solid foundation for your family when turbulent times do arise.
Here are some things that the Nelson's are doing to spend some time together over the next few weeks...
* Swimming and Picnics at Indian Boundary and at Fort Loudon State Park (my kids favorite places)
* Camping out over the weekend
* Having movie nights with buttered popcorn and drinks
* Playing with our pony
* Reading and creating bedtime stories together
Here's the thing, you really don't have to spend a ton of money to enjoy each other's company. Be creative and have some fun. I look forward to see you soon.
I am excited about this new blog feature. Jonah, Stephanie and I will be posting some of our thoughts regardng education, family life, spirituality, and leadership. In addition, we will use this space to share with you school news, links to educational resources, community events, and other great information.
Here's an easy way to raise money for the school. Just start using Yahoo! powered GoodSearch.com as your search engine and they'll donate about a penny to your favorite cause every time you do a search!
In addition, do all of your shopping through their online shopping mall, GoodShop.com, where you can shop at more than 2,600 top online retailers and a percentage of your purchases will go to the charity or school of your choice.
You pay the same price as you normally would, but a donation goes to your cause!
You can also enroll in the GoodDining program. Eat at over 10,000 participating restaurants nationwide and you can earn up to 6% of every dollar spent on the meal as a donation for your charity or school.
Here's the web site — http://www.goodsearch.com/. You can also read about GoodSearch in the NY Times, Oprah Magazine, CNN, ABC News and the Wall Street Journal.
